My first typographic project to be turned into a usable font. Bowling Champ is chunky in all the right places. Created using a square grid and repeated simplistic elements. You can imagine this font being crafted into a neon store-front sign for a humble bowling alley / arcade.

This project gave me the opportunity to learn a font creation software, and I chose the opensource FontForge. The initial characters and symbols were created using Adobe Illustrator, and then were transferred and refined within FontForge. Bowling Champ font is available for free on GumRoad
